About This Spot

Arriving at Eagles Nest Bar and Grill feels like stepping into a quiet retreat tucked away from the everyday rush. Nestled beside Orange Lake, the setting immediately invites you to pause and settle into a slower rhythm, where the gentle rustle of Spanish moss and the wide water views create an easygoing, unpretentious atmosphere. Whether you choose to sit indoors, with its comfortable, straightforward charm, or on the screened porch catching glimpses of the surrounding greenery and wildlife, the space encourages relaxed conversations and moments of calm.

This local gem strikes a balance between a classic family restaurant and a welcoming neighborhood hangout, where the pace is leisurely and the welcome is genuine. It’s the kind of place where the hum of friendly chatter blends with the occasional clinking of glasses, creating a cozy backdrop for both long-time locals and curious travelers passing through.

Food here mirrors the laid-back vibe—nothing overly complicated, but thoughtfully prepared and hearty. The menu hints at Southern and coastal influences, with familiar favorites like golden fried green tomatoes, crispy alligator tail bites, and shrimp tacos that feel right at home next to a cold cider or a crisp Michelob Ultra. It’s a place where the kitchen’s care can be tasted in the simple pleasures of a well-grilled Reuben or the satisfying crunch of fried pickles shared between friends.

The charm of Eagles Nest Bar and Grill is found not just in what’s on the plate, but in the surroundings and the spirit of the place—where lake views enhance each meal and genuine hospitality makes you feel like you’ve found a local secret rather than a stop on the map. It’s exactly the kind of spot where you slow down, soak in the Florida air, and savor the comfort of a casual meal that reconnects you with good company and quiet beauty.

I've been here a couple of times and the food has been, OK. Tonight it seemed so much better. The menu has been updated and the chef(s) that were on tonight did a great job keeping all the food hot when served and tasty Altogether we ordered: -Appetizer of Gator bites *little small on portion size -Alfredo noodles (without chicken) *portion was small, very small for $14 -Deep Fried Shrimp & Fries - I ordered the Orange Lake Cheeseburger w/mushrooms & Fries Great job to the wait staff and the cooks * I do wish they served 'Fish & Chips' with Cod and not Catfish

Fish and chips were excellent; shrimp tacos were average. We sat at a table overlooking Orange Lake. Great view, great service. Restaurant needs a good cleaning as smudgy fingerprints were all over the doors including the restroom doors, entrance doors, and inside doors with access to the screened porch.

If you’re interested in the “out of the way” place to eat, then I have one you should consider. It’s part of an RV home community and Golf Course. A sort of Caddy Shack style. With stunning Lake views and indoor or screen porch dining you’re bound to enjoy the setting. We began with chicken wings and an IPA great flavor not too hot. The grilled Reuben with fries and a Cobb salad made from scratch was delicious. We walked down to the dock and enjoyed watching the sunset and a baby gator. They are located off 318 and not 441 like Google maps shows. Behind the old Jai Lie

Small local eatery in McIntosh, on Orange Lake. Beautiful views of the water and wildlife. Excellent service!

Passing through town we stopped at this RV Resort to eat at their Eagles Nest Bar and Grill. The grounds here are gorgeous! Tons of huge trees with lots of hanging Spanish moss. The restaurant is located right on a lake. There is outside seating but sadly it was too cold to sit out there. The food was very good. I had a grilled chicken BLT with fries and my husband had chicken wings. My sandwich was good and the fries were really good. My husband said his chicken wings were really good. I had the key lime tart which was good but nothing to write home about. My husband had the chocolate cream pie and that was awesome! We initially had very good service. But then after we got our food our server struck up a very long conversation with some other customers and we eventually had to ask someone else about dessert and to bring us more water. That's the only reason for four stars.

The GPS takes you down 191st but it's best to go 318 and through the RV Park. It wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. The server was very attentive my food came out fast it was super hot. I got the Philly cheese steak and french fries and the key lime tart for dessert I sat out on the deck and watch the sun go down over the lake.

It's actually inside of a Sun Retreats resort which was fine. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Really good fish and chips, the fish took up the length of the basket. The beer was ice cold and the sweet tea was perfect. We also enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. There happen to be music with a young girl singing, that was extra special. There is a beautiful lake to see as well.

Come to eat, stay for the gators. We had the pizza, fried pickles and gator tail. Such a pretty patio to sit on if you don't want to do the screen porch.
